Imagine reading books in one sitting or being able to read articles twice or three times faster. These skills can not only help you take a leap forward professionally, but they can also help you personally by giving you greater time flexibility.
Three of the biggest problems with reading slow are sub-vocalization (sounding out as you read), eye text peripheral vision (seeing/reading only 1 word at a time), and concentration which can cause regression (re-reading passages again). "Speed Read" has developed a series of exercises that with practice can improve your reading speed in all three areas.
Exercises Provided:
- Text Flasher: A article is streamed in a series of flashing words at a set speed (user configurable). Goal of exercise is to break the sub-vocalization of reading and improve regression (can't re-read text since it is streaming forward).
*Feature: The text flasher also provides the user the ability to paste in their own article or e-mail to practice on or speed read thru
- Random Numbers: A series of random numbers are presented across the screen and the user needs to visually scan the numbers in order. This exercise is timed for user feedback. Goal of exercise is to improve eye text peripheral vision, eye recognition speed, and concentration.
- Pattern: A series of patterns are present to user at ever increasing speeds. Goal of this exercise is to work out the eye muscles to improve fast and accurate eye movement.
- Maze: A series of mazes are presented for the user to solve visually. This exercise is timed for user feedback. Goal of the Mazes is similar to Number exercise: to improve eye text peripheral vision, eye recognition speed, and concentration. *Mazes created by Maze Creator software (www.mazecreator.com)
