Southern Dialect

Different accents and dialects around the world is a fascinating subject. Not only the accents around the world, but the fact people command the English language so differently in our country.

This application for the iPhone and iPod Touch will give you enlightenment behind the quaint southernisms of our country. We have built a dictionary on southernisms in a very easy to use application. We have designed it so that you can easily find what you are looking for without the confusion and frustration like so many apps out there on the iDevices.

Southern American English is a group of dialects of the English language spoken throughout the Southern region of the United States, from Southern and Eastern Maryland, West Virginia and Kentucky to the Gulf Coast, and from the Atlantic coast to throughout most of Texas and Oklahoma.
