TERRITORY VOL: 13 – EEE
“Everything, Everywhere, Evolving”
We are truly in the time of everything, everywhere, evolving now!
The work of designers, and indeed the world of design itself has for some time
now entered into a terrain of accelerated evolution. Now it is time to take a pause, to navigate the new landscapes that have opened up in the infinite dimensions of design.
By everywhere, we at Territory, a design magazine based in Asia, know intimately firsthand how design, as an industry and as creative expression, have grown and expanded. We take in the contemporary considerations of design to recognize the migration and assimilation of different cultural ideas and inspirations from across the spectrum.
In design’s cultural jamming session of ‘everything’, we look towards the horizon of evolution. The works presented in T13 present the whole spectrum and we leave you to ponder a quote by Paul Ardent.
"If work is fresh and new, you can't expect to like it straightaway, because you have noting to compare it with. The effort of coming to terms with things you do not understand makes them all the more valuable to you when you do grasp them. Good art speaks for itself. That doesn't mean you have to like it.
So the next time you go to an art show, or look at anything for that matter, observe what effect it has on you and try to form your own opinion. That way you become the critic and not a mouthpiece for someone else's opinions."
