This application for the iPad was inspired by Umberto Boccioni's sculpture made in 1913. After research and study of a bronze cast taken from the original plaster work, a digital sculpture was created. A personal endeavour to understand the forms and influence my own work.
It has been recently developed to contain as much detail as possible, while allowing the real-time interaction afforded by the iPad. This may serve simply as a reference for artists to see the work in a new way from view points of their choosing.
The result is simple interactive 3D model. It is my hope that it will find its own space, in your hands, to compliment the gallery exhibits and photographs of this influential masterpiece.
You will be able to rotate, and move around the work. I have provided 3 colour versions, to reflect the materials that the work can be seen in. The white colour represents plaster, which the work was originally created in.
In a adition a digital reproduction of a sculpture that was lost to the world over 100 years ago. Adding Umberto Boccioni's Abstract Head, his earliest sculpture in a development that would eventually result in his masterpiece Unique Forms of Continuity in Space. There will be more works added to the app as they are completed.
