PhonePigeon replaces traditional paper phone message pads. It's a fun way of using your iPad instead of carbon copy books, small notepads, or bits of paper torn from envelopes or the back side of used photocopy paper.

If you're a receptionist, secretary or office worker or anyone whose job involves taking messages for others (which was my first job when I left school), you'll understand how important it is to get this right.

A Google search returns many sites which give good advice on how to take effective phone messages, however most of them agree on the the following:

Ensure you note the date and time of the call.

Get the name and company/organisation of the caller.

Most importantly, get the best contact number of the caller and record it accurately.

These sound simple but in my experience, it's easy to make a mess of it and write down the wrong phone number, lose the message, forget to pass on the message, or even if you do pass the paper message on, the message recipient loses it and never returns the call! In the end, you're the messenger pigeon who's likely to gets the blame for all of it! If this sounds familiar then PhonePigeon is for you.
