If you are a PACS administrator or a doctor uses DICOM-appliances, you probably come across the following questions. "Why it can not connect to DICOM server ?" "Why it can not query/retrieve from some PACS ?" It would be a nightmare to diagnose the DICOM network problems. Luckily,DICOM Connect is a good app to help you out.It will run the following tests to help you figure out the DICOM network problem :

1) Ping the DICOM host:

Is the IP address correct ? Is it available now ?

2) TCP connect to the specified port:

Is the port number correct ? Is the DICOM server running ? Is there any firewall blocking the connection ? (For most cases, this is the problem. )

3) Making DICOM echo request :

Is this DICOM server good to receive connection request now ?

4) Making DICOM Send request:

Does this DICOM server support storage ? Does it support storing some special SOP ? Such as RT Iron Plan ?

5) Making DICOM Query/Retrieve Request ?

Does this DICOM server support query/retrieve ? What kind of query/retrieve does it support ? How about patient root / study root ?

6) Finally, it will generate a report and you can send the report to your email.

[NOTE: You need WIFI to connect your iPhone to your PACS/DICOM Host network.]
